Hi! Any books you can recommend that deal with eternal sonship of Jesus? With that looking for a book that deals with verses that say how we are to interpret verses that say Jesus was "the first born" and "begotten" and how the sonship of the second person of the Trinity is different then a human sonship and is rather anthropomorphical.
I know this is complected subject but the way I understand it is that Jesus the man was not eternal but born at a particular point in history but the "Son of God" the second person of the godhead who would come incarnate in Jesus was and is eternal. Also now the "Son of God" is eternally Jesus, so that He now forever is both human and divine. Is this orthodox or is it wrong to separate the human and divinity nature of Jesus and the "Son of God". I believe Jesus was and is both 100% human and 100% divine even though this does not make logical sense to our human capacity. I think also part of the problem is how we as humans thank of a "son" as being the biological offspring of another whereas the Bible seems to use "Son of God" more to describe the unity of the first and second person of the Trinity so that the word "son" is really just a way that humans can understand this relationship.
Thanks!
