What are your favorite rain songs? Can have the word "rain" in the title or lyrics.

"Rhythm of the Rain" (The Cascades) ... my all-time fave

Also love,
"Walking in the Rain" (The Ronettes)
"Walk Away Renee" (The Left Banke)
"A Summer Song" (Chad Stewart and Jeremy Clyde)
"The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" (Gordon Lightfoot)
"Walking in Memphis" (Marc Cohn)
"Here Comes the Rain Again" (The Eurythmics)

I don't really like "Songs about Rain" because I generally don't like songs about songs or music. I'd rather have the songs. I'd rather have the music.

"Raindrops Keep Fallin' on my Head" -- B.J. Thomas
"Who'll Stop the Rain" -- Credence Clearwater Revival
"Have You Ever Seen the Rain" -- Credence Clearwater Revival
"Singin' in the Rain" -- Arthur Freed and Nacio Herb Brown/Gene Kelly
"The Rain Song" -- Led Zeppelin
"A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall" -- Bob Dylan
"Why Does it Always Rain on Me?" -- Travis Tritt
"Blue Rain Comin' Down" -- Roy Orbison
"I Love a Rainy Night" -- Eddie Rabbitt

"Dry the Rain" -- The Beta Band
"Rain King" -- Sonic Youth
"Rain Song" -- Sunny Day Real Estate

oh yeah I forgot ..."the Lord said to Noah, build me an
Arky arky..."

and then there's these:

Here Comes that Rainy Day Feelin' Again -the fortunes

and Little Bird by Jerry Jeff Walker

Does "Riders on the Storm" count? Guess not since "rain" is not in the title or lyrics. I guess songs about or including the word "rainbow" deserve their own thread?

"When The Levee Breaks" is probably my favorite. Other favorites are:

Time- Pink Floyd
Rainy Day Women Nos. 12 and 35-Dylan

Rainy Day,Dream Away/1983...A Merman I should Turn to Be/Still Raining, Still Dreaming-Jimi Hendrix

Love or Confusion- Jimi Hendrix
Texas Flood- Stevie Ray Vaughan
Rain-The Cult
Fool In the Rain Led Zeppelin
The Sky is Crying Elmore James (covered by SRV, Clapton and others)
Flood- Jars of Clay
Here Comes the Flood- Peter Gabriel

What? No mention of the smash hit, "Blame it on the Rain?" :p

Dreams by Fleetwood Mac

Thunder only happens when
it's raining
Players only love you when they're
playing
Say women they will come and they will go
When
the rain washes you clean you'll know
You'll
know

"Rain" -- Foreigner (based on the Henry Wadsworth Longfellow quote: "Into each life some rain must fall.")
"Let it Rain" -- Eric Clapton

Or how about Phil Collins - I Wish it Would Rain Down, featuring Eric Clapton on guitar!

That's jammin'!

Great songs!

Rock you like a hurricane? Not sure if "rain" is in the lyrics but it could be.

Wasn't there a "rain" song by Milli Vanilli?

I think my mentioning "Milli Vanilli" has officially killed this thread. :judge:

Oh, I forgot to mention

Drip Drop - Dion and the Belmonts

:sing:

Hey, the roof is leakin´ and the rain´s fallin´ on my head, it won´t stop
The roof is leakin´ and the rain´s fallin´ on my head, I need a mop
I cried so hard, teardrops on my bed, drippity-drop (yes)

Brian ... I thin I just rained on your picnic. ;)
