Puritan Board Doctor
Yesterday, I saw Illegal (1955), one of the last of the noir films. It starred Edward G. Robinson as a district-attorney-turned-defense-lawyer. Good movie.
His secretary is played by Ellen Corby (Grandma Walton!) and the poor schlub who is innocent of murder but gets executed anyway is played by DeForest Kelley ("Star Trek"!). It's his execution that sets up the rest of the movie.
Corby was a well-established character actor, but Kelley was just at the beginning of his career.
A great before-they-were-famous moment.
