Can someone help me with the Hebrew for Genesis 22:1.

"And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am." (KJV)

What is the Hebrew trying to get across? Is it "tempt" or "tested" as it is stated in the NKJV & ESV?

Part two of my question is, if it is meaning that God "tempted" Abraham, how do we reconcile this with James 1:13:

"Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man" (KJV)

The word "tempt" is interpreted based on context. It can mean to test or to tempt. The Gen 22 passage refers to God tempting Abraham as in testing him.
