If you have ever visited Trinity College Dublin you will probably have seen the statue of George Salmon in the college square alongside that of the historian, W. E. H. Lecky. Salmon's writings are a sad reminder of how far the Church of Ireland has fallen in the last 100+ years. (Okay, there are still plenty of good ministers and zealous lay people in good congregations, but, on the whole, it is a train-wreck.) I won't bother posting a preview this time, as it is a very short post:
