I just mailed mine in today (2/28). I'm actually getting money back for the first time in many years.

So: who else has got theirs done? (I know it's a little early yet!)

I was about to hit send when I got notification there was an error made in giving me an important tax form. I'm waiting to get a corrected form back.

My effective tax rate went up this year because I am no longer eligible for a tax credit, but I'll be getting about the same small amount back because I adjusted my withholdings accordingly. I try to get as close to $0 back each year as I can.

So, you want the gummint to keep your money?

I have done most of it but am waiting on a response because I think my software factored in the 1099 t wrong.

Finishing things up this weekend to send off to the accountant. We typically try and get it done in early February so this is late for us and it's bugging me a bit, but we're finally done! Since I'm a pass-through business entity instead of a W-2, I'll have a check to write Uncle Sam--it remains to be seen what the damage is.

I don't want to give the government an interest free loan!

Through some mistake last year I overpaid taxes. Usually I pay to what I think is the penny and I usually get a notice that I owe somewhere around $20 more.
So, for the first time in 25 years I received a refund.

Later I received a 1099 for interest the government paid me on the overpayment.

So I take it the government is now going to tax you on the interest they paid you. Nice racket.

Yes and we filed electronically last week . Actually got a bigger return than last year..

I finished ours a couple of weeks ago. For the first time, ever, we owed additional payments on both our Federal and State taxes. Praise God that we had income to be taxed, but woe is California.

The change in deducting high property taxes and high state taxes hurt those of us that live in Socialist states.. My daughter is paying more as well because they own rental property.

Haven't filed, but I know the numbers. I mocked up the my 2017 numbers last Feb in a spreadsheet with the new tax laws so I'd know what was up, and found at the time a modest improvement. I adjusted my allowances accordingly, so my refund is lower.

I have 2018 return. Had To file 1040x for 2017. Hospital sent wrong address to social security resulting in a delayed card for our youngest. Finally received card!

Full disclosure - I filed early this year. Roughly the same result as last year.
