I have Volume#3 of the Grove Chapel Pulpit. All the sermons were from 1849 near the end of his ministry.I think
that was about a year before Charles H.Spurgeon's conversion.C.H.S. regarded him highly in his "Commenting
and Commentaries".
The sermon "The Head of the Church"is my favorite. In
another sermon called "The Sinless Savior"he asks some searching questions on page 35.
When reading him I am reminded of Spurgeon, though
Irons ministry preceded C.H.S.Maybe C.H.S.was influenced by him.
I appreciate reading men of the past who are largely
unknown to us,yet their writings are so edifying.
