If anyone has been interested in getting on board with the Logos Software System, this is your chance. The Logos 3 platform is excellent.

If you are interested, U2U me and I'll send you a link to purchase from Logos. For everyone who signs up from my link, I can get a $25 gift certificate to be redeemed on Logos software. Think of it as helping me pay for seminary books.:)

I know...this is shameless. But hey, if even 1 of you guys does this, I can get some cool stuff.

I may be interested in Logos. Can you tell me how it stacks up against Bible Works? And the price differences?

:detective:

They are both excellent pieces of software (I have both) and they are used in 2 primarily different ways. Bibleworks is pretty much used for exegetical study. For exegetical work it is fast. Hover your mouse over the greek word and instantly see lexical entries. Powerful search capabilities as well.

Logos can do all the same things that Bibleworks can but some of them just a bit slower. The strength of Logos is their comprehensive library system.

I can search for how a verse is used and it will search through the Early Church Fathers, commentaries, sermons, journals etc.

Pricing varies starting from around $125-150 for the base package and up to over $1000 for the Gold package. You can buy other packages as standalone such as the Baker NT Commentary set for 80 bucks: http://www.rejoicesoftware.com/baker_nt_comm.htm

A cool feature of Logos is the exegetical report. I can take any verse (or passage) and it will parse every hebrew or greek word and automatically look it up in all of the available lexicons. I can then automatically have every commentary, journal, and special collection (Luther's Works, Spurgeon's Sermons, etc.).

Be sure to watch the demo

Check out a bunch of training videos to check out different features.

Also, they have a great blog that the programmers and staff update on almost a daily basis with tutorials and new features.: http://blog.logos.com/

Not sure if I'm scratchin' where your itchin'. If you have specific questions, let me know.
