Recently the church of England ,appointed a homosexual bishop.

Leviticus 20:13
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Romans 1: 26-27
For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.

1 Corinthians 6: 9 - 11
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

All we can say to that is:"How long Lord,holy and true dost Thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?" A cry of outraged justice for the suffering church and a desire for deliverance.

Imagina how bad it was in the 'good ol' days" of Noah!! God only spared "8"!!! This is quit disgusting what these people do to the position of a bishop.

That's what happens when politics drive people's theology. Too often, politics turns out to be these people's religion
 
The issue goes much more deeply than politics. Politics and political standing are the outworkins of convictions. Convictions are the outworking of beliefs. Beliefs stem from doctrine and teaching. Doctrine is derived from standards.

This is at its root and epistemologcial and theological problem. Once a belief in inerrancy is abandoned all bets are off.

I have a very good friend who is formerly an Episcopalian rector. Now he is Anglican, attached to the Rwandan church (The Anglican Mission in America). You should hear the stories that he has. It is heart wrenching.

Could something like this happen in the Presbyterian denomination, or are there safeguards against it happening?

If it could, do you think most churches would stay in the denomination, or would those opposed to it split from the denomination to form a separate Presbyterian denomination?

Since reading about the English bishop, i now see, that they have appointed a homosexual bishop in New Hamshire in the U.S..Things are definitely looking brighter.

I have many good friends in the Anglican Church who are true Christians. Please remember them in your prayers, that they may have the wisdom and courage to do the right thing.

There has been a fight going on in the PCUSA for over 10 years on allowing homosexual officers. So far they have been able to fend off various overtures through the Presbyteries. In fact there is a "Confessing Church" movement in the PCUSA that has been countering the pro-homosexual lobby at GA. The feeling is that if overtures allowing homosexuals to be officers ever passes there will be a split in the PCUSA. Of course there is one problem, a particular church can not leave the denomination without giving up its property since it is owned by the Presbytery.
 
The 10th Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, under the leadership of James Boice, left the PCUSA back in the '80's over the ordination of a gay pastor in Maryland. They also kept their property.

Back in the early to mid '80's, when the PCUSA and the PCUS merged, there was a "window of opportunity" for particular churches to leave the denomination with their property. 10th Pres must have been one of them.

The Uniting church Australia has voted unanimously to appoint lesbian and homosexual priests.What is upsetting is that they see nothing wrong with it.According to them, they bring the church up to date.They forget that God does not change and His moral law does not change either.

The History Channel said the sins of Sodom and Gommorah were inhospitality... therefore, we can ordain homosexual bishops since Jesus said to love your neighbor. I can exegete like an Episcopalian.
