How does infralapsarianism understand Ephesians 1:4?

Hey guys, nice to meet you all

I’m currently exchanging virtual letters with someone who’s interested in knowing Calvinism better

After I explained her the idea of infralapsarianism (which, in my understanding, means that God has elected the ones He wanted after the Fall), she questioned me how it would be in accordance to Ephesians 1:4:

“For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight”

I know it’s probably a silly question for someone who has studied the subject in-depth, but that’s not my case yet. So could anyone explain how infralapsarianism sees the expression “he chose us in him before the creation of the world”, since this doctrine says the election happened after the Fall (that is, when the world already existed)?

Ps.: I tried to find if anyone had asked this before, but I couldn’t. Sorry if this is a repetitive question

God bless you all!

The doctrine of infralapsarianism actually does not teach this. What it emphasizes is that in election, God considers men as fallen creatures, even though the fall was yet to occur, (though it was ordained).
