Hudibras -- Samuel Butler

Samuel Butler, an Anglican Royalist, wrote a satire of Cromwell and the Presbyterians, called Hudibras (this poem is known as being the source of that popular phrase "Spare the rod and spoil the child," Part II, Canto I, ll. 844). Of historical interest, perhaps, to the Puritan-minded, is one little extract (Part 3, Canto 2, 635-640) which names some of the Westminster Divines:

Where had they all their gifted phrases,
But from our CALAMYS and CASES?
Without whose sprinkling and sowing,
Who e'er had heard of NYE or OWEN?
Their dispensations had been stifled,
But for our ADONIRAM BYFIELD;
