I think most of us have pulled an ugly sweater or something like that out of bag, coughed involuntarily and then quickly recovered to say something ‘grateful.’ Can truth be contorted from that?

OK, here's an angle that hasn't been discussed on this thread. This should definitely be verboten when considering whether to re-gift:
