Isaiah and John's gospel?

I have just finished Isaiah, and I realized that there are a lot of parallels between Isaiah and John. What are your thoughts on this? I would love to find more parallels between these two books. Do you think that John had a lot of experience with the book of Isaiah?

I believe that John pointed to Isaiah 6 in his 12th chapter, and in so doing identified Christ as the One sitting on the throne.

My Gospels Prof (Dr. David Klingler) believes that one cannot truly understand John without a thorough understanding of Deuteronomy and Isaiah.
