Robert Traill (Stedfast Adherence to the Profession of our Faith), Works 3:267:

That a believer should live the less dependent upon Jesus Christ is a snare that you have great need, all of you, to take good heed of and beware of. Remember that you do not live, and that you do not stand by the grace that is in you, but only by the grace that is in him. Our strength stands in the fountain: Be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. A believer thinks himself exceeding weak when he can see nothing of Christ’s grace in himself; but that is a great mistake. That man is exceeding weak indeed that can see no grace in Christ Jesus; that man is fallen woefully. How excellently does the apostle speak of it, 2 Cor. 12:9, 10: Most gladly therefore will I glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For when I am weak, then am I strong. It is best with me when I am nothing. What a mighty word is that! Though I be nothing, ver. 11.
