J. C. Ryle

Well, after having read in it on occasion, and after pondering it off and on for 20 years or so, I finally broke down and bought J. C. Ryle's Expository Thoughts on the Gospels (originally: 7 volumes published from 1856-1865). I bought the Baker Books set, primary because, unlike the Banner of Truth Trust set, it's in hardback.

See? I can make a decision once in awhile!

I bought my hardback set (4 volumes) months ago from CVBBS (Expository Thoughts On The Gospels by Ryle, J.C. | CVBBS - Reformed Books, Bibles, and Christian Literature - Cumberland Valley Bible Book Service). It is $29.99 for the hardback set.

I have recently begun reading through Volume 1 and am thoroughly enjoying it.

His Commentary on John is one of the best. Ryle is one of my fave's. I was saddened when the Baker edition was out of print. I was very excited when it came back.
