Writing this in his dotage, John has the benefit of hindsight and in his introduction makes general remarks or perhaps better - reflections. As one of the inner three he saw Jesus transfigured and speaking with Moses and Elijah. This must have been an intensely personal and spiritual experience. Why does he miss it out from his Gospel? :think:
