This morning I read an article from Desiring God that speaks of Joy and Happiness.

The speaker (Ptr. Leonce Crump) their says joy and happiness have become synonymous in today's world. But they are different. Happiness is just temporary, circumstantial, and its based on what we feel that we deserve at the present time. Joy is something much deeper and richer, this is one based in our joy in God, and even if we encounter painful, trivial, trying times, difficulties in this life we are able still to bless and praise the name of the Lord.

Joy is looking forward to the promise that God has for us, the elect, us his people. We should have absolute joy in Christ, to focus and have an understanding of our Lord Jesus, and to have a joy filled life sharing the good news to others like what Christ did.

My prayer and let this be our prayer for all that we may find joy in Him, for we are His, and our heart's is restless until we rest our heart's in Him (Augustine of Hippo). That whatever circumstances we may be in that we may be content. Philippians 4:11-12
But not that we become destitute that we may steal and dishonor God, or become rich and forget Him. That we may have just enough, to give us our daily bread. Proverbs 30:80-9
