Greetings all!
I am a longtime reader who joined this board some time ago but have not had a chance to post anything until now. It's nice to finally "meet" you all!
I have a question about manmade holy days, which I don't believe are scriptural. This article seems to imply that the practice of Lent/Easter came from the apostle John:

The implication someone would take away from reading this is that Lent/Easter were practiced pretty much from the start of Christianity and are valid Christian holy seasons.
Can anyone shed some light on this? Did the Apostle John teach anything like this or did his disciples add these practices in later? Or is there some other explanation?
Thanks for your help!
