I have searched high and low.

Oxford Dictionary, NDB, Brooks, Reid, lots of articles, bibliographies, etc. I can't find much on Whiddon. Anyone have any other resources they might have on information on this divine?

The bibliography for that book points to Calamy's A Continuation of the Account of the Ministers, Lecturers,..., as one possible lead (if you haven't already checked it).

The Memorials of Westminster, by Walcott is another mentioned which might yield something.

And you've checked The Nonconformists Memorial?

Nonconformists mentions him in passing, but no info. The others...Zero.

Alexander Mitchell's "Westminster Assembly" (p. xiv.) includes a list which shows he was called by Parliament, but there is no record that he took the protestation nor sat in the Assembly. This would indicate that he was not, in fact, a Westminster divine.

"Ecclesiastical antiquities of Devon," p. 83, states, "On the north wall of the chancel there is a tablet to the memory of Francis Whiddon, A.M. who was 39 years Minister of this parish, and died Jan. 5, A.D. 1656, aetatis 65."

There is also a reference in Wood's Athenae.
