Lord’s Day 9 (2019). The observance of the uncommanded holy-days is ever found to interfere with the due sanctification of the Lord’s-day. Adding to the appointments of God is superstition; and superstition has ever been found unfriendly to genuine obedience (Samuel Miller, Presbyterianism, 1835). “Christ is born, is circumcised, dies, rises again for us every day in the preaching of the Gospel” (Danæu). “This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24).

Appropriate for the Lent season. Was thinking along those lines with people talking about Lent who also happen to hold to the (so called) Continental view of the Sabbath. Lent seems utterly pointless if you try to take Sunday seriously.
