Lord's Day 19 (2018). “Non malè igitur fecerunt, qui omnia præter ‘diem Dominicum’ aboleverunt." The Italian Reformer Jerome Zanchius held that additional days might be set aside by the church’s authority, as long as there was no superstition; however, he conceded that it was more agreeable to apostolic writings and first institution, that only one day in the week be sanctified, and that “they have not acted incorrectly, who have abolished all days except ‘the Lord’s Day’”. Cited in Gillespie, EPC, 66, note 1. Danæu: "Christ is born, is circumcised, dies, rises again for us every day in the preaching of the Gospel." "This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24.
