I seem to recall a discussion not too long ago regarding liturgy for the Lord's Supper service. I could not locate it in the archives however.

I'm interested in sample orders of worship used by various congregations. My congregation is moving to more frequent observance and this is a good time to look at the Reformed options.

This one is common:
Minister: The Lord be with you.
People: And also with you.
Minister: Lift up your hearts.
People: We lift them up unto the Lord.
Minister: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
People: It is right to give him thanks and praise.

PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING AND WORDS OF INSTITUTION

Minister: Let us proclaim the mystery of faith.
People: Christ has died.
Christ is risen.
Christ will come again.
Minister: Christ our Passover has been sacrificed for us.
People: Therefore, let us keep the feast.
Minister: The gifts of God for the people of God. Come to the table.

Lately we have been using one that I like much better, but I can't seem to find a recent order of worship. Sorry!

Terry Johnson's book, Leading in Worship contains examples of five or so Reformed liturgies.

Always remember that the service of the Lords Supper should demonstrate what we believe as Reformed Protestants that it is the symbol of salvation and is an aid to faith in the gospel, so that the benefits of Christ's death are received through faith alone; the Lord's Supper is one of the 2 true sacraments; Jesus meant the wine and bread represent his blood and body only.
