in the spirit of the season, I am trying to find something about the mother of our Lord that shows who she is in a protestant way. I know the catholics raise her to heretical hights, but so many others dump on her as nothing special, a sinner like the rest. I have a problem with that because the Bible says she was highly favored of the Lord. She carried our Lord and Saviour in her womb by a virgin birth and raised Him and followed Him as Saviour, then watched Him be crucified and saw him raised again. She and her other sons were in the Upper Room at Pentecost.

Is there any profound work on Her, which is not just an anti catholic dissertation?

But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all (Gal. 4:26).
