Justified

Puritan Board Sophomore
I was wondering if some of you guys on the board could introduce me to this position and give a biblical defense of it. I'm currently sympathetic to the modern two kingdoms position as articulated by Vandrunen, Clark, et al. But I'm open to hearing what the other side has to say.

In what ways does the covenanter position differ from the neo-Kuyperian transformationalist position? How does believer of the mediatorial kingship of Christ understand the relationship between the two kingdoms, as they understand them. Please feel free to dispel any common misconceptions of the position.

Also, if you want, feel free to provide some good resources to introduce me to the topic!

You might find a great deal just using the PB search engine. This topic has been discussed here for years.

A couple of questions to consider are these:

1. Where does the authority of the Civil Magistrate come from?

2. If his authority comes from God as creator (Classical Two-Kingdoms), or from Christ as Messiah (Messianic Kingship), what duty does he owe to God as Creator, or what duty does he owe to Christ as Messiah?
