I just bought a used copy of the 5-volume set The History of the Reformation in the Sixteenth Century (1835-1858) by J. H. Merle D'Aubigne. This is the American edition published by the American Tract Society. All 5 volumes are very clean, with no underlining or markings of any kind. The entire thing is in very good physical condition. And the bookshop wanted only $45 for the whole set! Such a deal!

Now, hopefully, I'll find a clean copy someday of his other set: A History of the Reformation in the Time of Calvin (8 volumes).

I rejoice with you . . . . a treasure indeed

Merle D'Aubigne's history is so good!

Years ago, I met someone at a conference who noted my love of D'aubigne, and duly sent me an 1846 edition set in the post as a gift! It is a treasure indeed.

I have also acquired both the sets that you mention, but in French. And was hoping to OCR/digitize them and make them available to the Francophone countries of Africa - Congo, Burundi, Ivory Coast etc.
But its a big project and I am not sure when I will manage to do it.
