Nice old set of Matthew Henry

As it happens, I'm reading E. A. Johnston's recent biography of George Whitefield (published in 2 volumes in 2008). In it, he says that Whitefield bought a set of Matthew Henry in 1735 for 7 pounds - the equivalent of 4 months' wages for an ordinary laborer in England at that time. It took Whitefield a year to pay for it.

Just checked - that set is now up to $102.50 and it still has six days to go before bidding closes!

It looks like, and it's hard to tell from a photo, that it has mold. Check the forth pic. Unless you know how to clean mold colonies from books, paper, etc. I wouldn't buy it.

I wrote to the guy to check on that. Will report back as to what he says.

Seller reported back:

Good Afternoon,

Thanks for taking the time to do that.

To answer the question, no, absolutely no mold. I'm sure it's glare or
something. This is a really beautiful set.

Blessings,
J.P.
