Would that a Presbyterian had written it, and the author pushes the fornication charge a bit strong but its the only treatment of Rutherford like it and has a lot of valuable information. The bibliography of R's works is the most complete I've seen published including MSS materials.
 
If I am not mistaken Coffey is a pluralist who is the subject of Stephen Perks' rebuttal in In Defense of the Christian State.
