A pastor was talking of the passing of a member of the congregation after a period of illness. I would have expected all prayer for healing to be "...if it is in Your will Lord." The gloss put on prayer and intercession for healing was that it had been answered by the person concerned being taken home (dying).

Is it just me or does this seem like "spin doctoring" for God?

If this were extended to faith healing services would the said faith healers want to be acknowledged as responsible for hastening the healing of those they pray for? Yes I think they would!

Would the said faith healers want to be acknowledged as responsible for hastening the deaths of those they pray for? Not so sure?

I just think we need to be honest about praying for healing in His will. Or am I getting this all wrong?

Sounds like it.

God can answer prayer by saying "Yes", "No" or "Later".

When we pray for someone to be healed we are not asking that they die and go to Heaven. So if they do die, God has said "No" to our prayer.

It's true that if they die they are in a better place, and without sickness, but that is different from them being healed.
