I know that I have mentioned the setting of this Psalm (62) by Aaron Keyes and Stuart Townend in a previous post, but it has greatly blessed me today as I've been preparing music for our worship this next week. The Scripture text for the sermon Sunday is Habakkuk 3:17-19.

17 Though the fig tree should not blossom,
nor fruit be on the vines,
the produce of the olive fail
and the fields yield no food,
the flock be cut off from the fold
and there be no herd in the stalls,
18 yet I will rejoice in the Lord;
I will take joy in the God of my salvation.
19 God, the Lord, is my strength;
he makes my feet like the deer's;
he makes me tread on my high places.

Psalm 62

My soul finds rest in God alone, my rock and my salvation
A fortress strong against my foes, and I will not be shaken
Though lips may bless, and hearts may curse,
And lies, like arrows pierce me,
I’ll fix my heart on righteousness;
I’ll look to Him who hears me.

O praise Him, hallelujah,
My Delight and my Reward
Everlasting, never failing;
My Redeemer, my God.

Find rest my soul in God alone, a mid the world’s temptations.
When evil seeks to take a hold, I’ll cling to my salvation.
Though riches come, and riches go,
Don’t set your heart upon them.
The fields of hope in which I sow
Are harvested in heaven.

Chorus:

I’ll set my gaze on God alone, and trust in Him completely.
With ev’ry day pour out my soul; and He will prove His mercy
Though life is but a fleeting breath,
A sigh too deep to measure,
My King has crushed the curse of death
And I am His forever.

O praise Him, hallelujah
My Delight and my Reward
Everlasting, never failing;
My Redeemer, my God.

O praise Him, O praise Him
Hallelujah, hallelujah (2 xs)
O praise Him, hallelujah
My Delight and my Reward
Everlasting, never failing;
My Redeemer, my God.

I think that is a really nice way to present parts of scripture I have wonder for quite some time why some gifted musician did not do what he does here.
Thanks for sharing.
(Do you have anything in danish :smug: )

Thanks for posting this. Martin, are you aware of the Aussie group, Sons of Korah? They almost exclusively sing Psalms to some incredible arrangements and settings.

Here is one of my favourites:

Off hand, I don't know of any, but you might check with Kingsway publishing out of the UK. They publish a lot of this kind of music in English, and they may have a Danish affiliate.
