Was doing some editing tonight, and all of a sudden it dawned on me I can now Lord Willing, so what I previously couldnt. That is, start to, slowly, maybe 50-100 pages a day, transcribe and start to edit the 34 vol. Puritan Fast Sermon Collection. Previously, it was out of range, because transcribing 14,000 pages is no easy task. But with AI, at $20 a month, it is not only now relatively easy, but inexpensive. I am going to try and start it, and see if I can make it part of my daily routine for 2025, this way, hopefully, by the time mid-2026 comes around, all 34 vols. will be ePubbed and offered on Monergism at no-cost (Lord Willing.) Say a little prayer if you can. I will have to take a break transcribing to do Musculus when I get to it, which will be about 10-15 days of AI'ing, but besides that, I hardly use much of my 320 - 12 hr. requests. Will probably go over each volume as they finish, but given that they are presently in facsimile, the 14,000 pages will probably shrink closer to 7,000 or 15 or so 500pg. volumes. We will see. Last I read (on here) SWRB was going to do it via Tentmakers in 2006 (almost 20 years ago,) but I don't know if either of those are really around anymore. Plus, in digital form will make it much more accessible for global distro.

Will most likely look at it as a little hobby of mine until the transcription is done. Now that we have the tech, its as good as time as any I reckon. Please pray for me if you have the chance, that the Lord would guide my efforts and give me the strength and focus.

Also, want to share this awesome song I found on Youtube.

I apologize, as I wasnt thinking last night. Caryl's "Job" is of more importance than the Fast Sermons right now (not saying I wont get to them one day.) But we already have 8 out 12 volumes of it transcribed by TCP/PP. The remaining 4 volumes constitutes roughly 3,500 pages, which, at, if the lord allows, 50 pages a day, about 70 days to transcribe the remaining 4 volumes. I might be able to do 100 pages a day, but 50 would be worst case. This, I feel, needs to get done before a collection of miscellaneous sermons.

Are these Puritan Fast Sermons the same ones that were done by Cornmarket Press (apparently back in 1970!)?

I think that's a fair assessment Dave, it would be nice to have Caryl readily available out of facsimile, thank you.

Yes sir. The set of Fast Sermons from the 1970's were published all in Facsimile, so there really isnt a copy-right issue since all the texts are in the Public Domain, especially if they were to be transcribed and done in modern font. But that is what I am thinking too, that is Caryl's is a more pressing transcription job. And since EEBO-TCP/PP has already given us 8 out of the 12 volumes, transcribing the remaining 4 is kind of short-work compared with transcribing the entirety of the Fast Sermons. The Fast Sermons equal about 14,000 pages; while the remaining vols. for Caryl's Job is about 3,000-3,500. If I can range between 50-100 pages a day transcribed, that makes getting them pre-prepped to be gone over in the 30-60ish day range.
