Anyone have any suggestions and/or favorites? Especially interested in sermons. No need to point out commentaries unless you found a treatment of John the Baptist that really stood out.

I haven't done much sleuthing here, but my initial finds are:
  • John Newton's sermon II on the Scriptural passages from Handel's Messiah: "Sermon II: The Harbinger, Isa. xl. 3-5" (In vol. 3 of the 2015 edition from Banner of Truth).
  • Spurgeon on Luke 3:16 (There may be a couple more from him out there)

Just trying to see what's out there ... Thanks!

In Thomas Manton's first sermon from Isaiah 53 he gives a few paragraphs to John the Baptist (Works, III.195-196).

The Works of Jonathan Edwards, vol. 1 (Banner of Truth Trust, 1974), p.654ff has "Discourse II: Pressing into the Kingdom" which treats of John the Baptist's ministry.
