Does anyone know whether R. C. Sproul Sr. ever wrote a systematic theology? I thought he did, I'm pretty sure I saw it somewhere but now looking on the books apps on my iPhone I can't find it in the store anywhere.

You may be thinking of his commentary on the Westminster Confession "Truths We Confess."

OK so apparently I made a mistake. Can anyone recommend a reformed systematic theology book then please?

In 2014 RC released his 339 page book: Everyone's A Theologian, subtitle: An Introduction to Systematic Theology.

As a good starter that's very short but will give you a lot of the basic categories in short-to-medium essay form, J. I. Packer's Concise Theology.

For something on the meatier side, and something written at the time of the Reformation, I love Calvin's 1541 French Institutes translated by Robert White. It's still 800 pages, but Robert White's translation of Calvin's French reads better than a lot of native English prose. It's really clear in its presentation and structure. I'm most of the way through this one, tending to graze and then return, graze and then return.

For something modern that's the author's own distillation to laymen is The Wonderful Works of God by Herman Bavinck. https://wtspress.com/products/the-wonderful-works-of-god. I've thumbed through this one and have heard nothing but good things about it.

For something in the middle, I'm a little less certain.
