I'm going to re-read this book: Christian Personal Ethics by Carl F. H. Henry (Grand Rapids: William B. Eerdmans Publishing Company, 1957).

Published 60 years ago this year (the same year as John Murray's Principles of Conduct: Aspects of Biblical Ethics), I think this is Henry's best book, in some ways. He spends the first 142 pages describing the history of secular ethical thought (from the Greeks forward), then spends the rest of the 583 pages of text laying out Christianity's basis for ethics. It's a really good work. Unlike Murray's book, it's been out of print for years, as far as I know.

Henry died in 2003, at 90.
