This movie is a biopic of the 40th President, Ronald Reagan. It shows him as a child in a church and what his home life was like. His mother was a devout woman, believing that everything happens for a reason.
The film concentrates on Reagan as anti-communist. We see him and his struggles at SAG with communists who want to take it over. But the film shines when Reagan becomes President, and we see him determined to do all he can to end Soviet communism.
This movie has been called "cloying" and hagiography," which to some degree it is. But the acting is good, particularly Quaid as Reagan, and the writing is good, if at times slightly uneven. This movie is not a great movie, but it is a good one, and worth your time.
