Today Brian Dempsey, an elder candidate here at Christ Reformed Church, delivered his 'candidate sermon' (one of the requirements for ordination).

The sermon was entitled "'Remember Me' - The Remarkable Conversion of a Crucified Thief".

As I was listening, I remembered a quote I saw somewhere sometime ago:

"Some people's patron saint is the penitent thief because he was saved knowing so little theology." --Anonymous

If Mr. Dempsey is correct, perhaps the thief knew more theology than we think he did.
