Puritan Board Freshman
I have recently acquired a copy of the works of Richard Sibbes Volume Five. it It contains Sibbes’ expositions and treatises on Pauline epistles. This volume includes a lengthy exposition of Philippians 2, as well as Sibbes’ exploration of the redemption of bodies and the relationship between the physical and the spiritual realm.

I have not seen him mentioned much on the boards but I have really enjoyed what I have read so far.

Anyone else read much of his writings?

Just noticed the recent acquisitions section, ooops!!

I moved your thread, David.

Sibbes is brilliant in every way.

You look familiar. I just got Sibbes volume three free at the Banner of Truth Conference. It is an expos of 2 Corinthians 1. Also got Brooks vol 1 free.

Sibbes is great--a bit hard to read at times like any of the Puritans (Shakespeare doesn't come easily either!), but less convoluted than Owen. Once you get past older English, you can really see his pastoral heart, like in Bruised Reed. He's really worth the effort!
