Robert Traill, Scottish Covenanter (May 1642 - May 1716), was present at the Battle of Pentland Hills in 1666 and soon thereafter fled for safety in Holland. After some time in London, he was later imprisoned at the Bass Rock in Scotland for his religion. He spent the remainder of his life pastoring at a Presbyterian congregation in London.
