Down and Out in Paris and London is perhaps Orwell's most unusual book, but it is eminently re-readable.
 
In the UK, Animal Farm and 1984 are currently being used as instruction manuals rather than warnings.
Some of my students have been reading Animal Farm in their English classes. I don't think the applicability has dawned on either the students or the teachers beyond the 'Trumpians opposing 'be who you are.'
