Satan knows how to craft his temptations to the natural dispositions of people. William Jenkyn says, "He has an apple for Eve, a grape for Noah, a change of raiment for Gehazi, and a bag for Judas" (quoted in A Puritan Theology, p. 194). William Gurnall says that no actress has "so many dresses to come in upon the stage with as the devil hath forms of temptation" (The Christian in Complete Armor, 2:76, quoted in A Puritan Theology, p. 194).
