Pardon my ignorance, but there is no disclaimer for the use of names and emails being gathered. I have nothing for or against the organization, but will they use it for solitcitation etc.?

Signed it. They should have a link on there to share to Facebook, and other social media sites. They do on their home page, but not on the sign in list. Perhaps it is against the law to have social media links on such an endeavor ?

Edit; I went to their home page and posted it to FB. I couldn't get back to the page that followed my signature.

I googled the Susan B Anthony List organization before I signed the petition. Seems to be a legit outfit. An adjunct of the Charlotte Lozier Institute, all about pro-life promotion, and information.

I have clicked to be included in their mailing list, so I'm not sure if they would use your name and email for that if you don't check a box. But they would only use it for that, and you could unsubscribe. They do a lot of fundraising but I do value getting the emails about actions I can take (they make it very easy to contact senators etc over any relevant measures.) I think it is worth being subscribed to for the action updates though I wind up getting a lot of fundraising mail. (And I wish I could do more to respond to those; they're doing very good and needed work.)

I would not know but I wouldn't be surprised if they have to be very careful not to use certain words on fb. They have had things pulled from these sites before.

Thank you for signing and seeking to share!

Okay; I signed it. A request for donation does appear afterward to do as you wish. Posted it to Facebook.

They do a lot of research that gets presented in congressional and senate debate, as well as to legislators generally. They also fund door to door educational efforts about abortion and various politician's positions on it. They've been cited by Planned Parenthood as one of the organisations that is making things harder for them.

We -- meaning prolifers in general -- have a march in Richmond, Virginia, next Thursday and I'm weighing my options to attend.

I signed it. An excellent cause. I'm hopeful the Senate will do the right thing on Monday.

They’ve been around for years and do great work. Wish I could support them financially.

It specifies Americans so I cannot sign it. But my heart is burdened about the wickedness of abortion worldwide.

However I saw that the petition uses the generic term "pro-life American". Does this mean pro life Christians in Canada, mid America, and South America can sign it too? :)

That would be great! I *think* much of the population in Central and South America are (is? -- one of those divided cases where one uses the singular or plural?) opposed to abortion. But I expect they are just looking for signatures from folks in the US (though I also expect you asked half-tongue-in-cheek :) ).

Heidi, yes a little tongue-in-cheek, but being from a very small country and being aware that the USA is a super power, some of us are aware of a bit of USA cultural superiority where the good people of the USA think they are alone are Americans. But as I said Canadians, and the people of Central and South America are Americans too. Kiwis have a reputation for aiming to be fair :)

I agree. I've lived in Latin America for almost 2 years and loved it very much. During that time I read about some of the history of our foreign policy dealings (under Republican Presidents) -- we can definitely be very oblivious of other Americans and indeed, the rest of the world. To balance that it was glaringly obvious that are some distinct freedoms, rights, heritage in the states that people are rightly grateful for and committed to upholding. It's also clear that our fallen human nature easily uses power to be oblivious of others (as in abortion). Something we have to guard against even in the church.
