You might remember about a month ago, we started a streaming radio station called Sola5 Radio... After working out some of the kinks,Sola5 Radio will be streaming again, Lord willing, this week, in test mode. This is a venture of the Covenant Radio podcast, and we hope will bless you in our presentation of teaching, music and exposition of the Word. Sola5 Radio has a blog at http://sola5.wordpress.com, where program listings will be presented, and from which the stream is accessible. You can also go directly to LoudCity to get the stream.

Great, thank you!

Here's an update from December 23, that I posted at my blog, In Principio ... Deus:

We will continue working on the Sola5 Radio stream, featuring some of the programming that we intend to present each week. We at Covenant Radio podcast appreciate your listening to our podcasts, and hope that you'll enjoy what we're doing at Sola5 Radio. Our weekly schedule is now loaded at the Sola5 Radio blog, and can be obtained directly here.

We're really pleased to offer this streaming programming, and hope that you'll find it edifying and a good alternative to the over-the-air radio that in most areas of the country and world leaves MUCH to be desired. Roughly speaking, we'll be streaming from 7am ET to 9pm ET M-F and on the Lord's Day, and 7am - 5pm ET on Saturday.

We'll be featuring each new Covenant Radio podcast on the Friday after it's recorded, as well as "back-issues" at other times during the week. We're also pleased to offer rebroadcasts of a sister podcast, Christ the Center, which offers edifying discussions of important issues for Reformed Christians, and Dr. Scott Clark's Office Hours podcasts, which feature discussions with professors at Westminster Seminary California. Finally, we also intend to feature rebroadcasts of the White Horse Inn radio program. Our teaching and preaching segments will feature Dr. Joe Morecraft on the History of the Reformation, Dr. Joel Beeke on Genesis and Dr. Alan Cairns on Romans. Interspersed with this will be readings from the Geneva Bible and various classical, Jazz and contemporary Christian pieces. We also plan to include teaching series such as audio from the Ligonier National Conferences, the Banner of Truth Conferences, and other Reformed gatherings. PLEASE DO give us feedback at the Sola5 Radio blog, or here. We hope to serve up an edifying and enjoyable menu, and want to make sure that what we produce is just that.

In order to connect to the online stream, you can go to the Sola5 blog. You can also go directly to LoudCity to get the stream.

Covenant Radio Launches Sola5 Radio

This was posted at the Covenant Radio blog:

Covenant Radio Launches Sola5 Radio

About a month ago Covenant Radio began to test a new online radio station to offer an alternative to the number of online broadcasting the exists on the internet. After some thought and discussion we have decided to launch this on a full-time basis beginning with structured programming that starts on December 29, 2009 at 7 AM ET.
Until that date you are able to listen to Sola5 Radio as we continue to work out some bugs however, there is no structured format during this “test phase”. We are currently broadcasting from 7 AM until approximately 7 PM. We hope you will tune in and drop us a line to let us know that you did and what you thought.

Why the name “Sola5″? Simple. We borrowed the name from the 5 Solas of the Protestant Reformation: Sola Scriptura (Scriptura Alone), Sola Fide (Faith Alone), Sola Gatia (Grace Alone), Solus Christus (Christ Alone), Soli Deo Gloria (Glory to God Alone).

What is the goal of Sola5 Radio? Our goal and aim is to promote solid, reformed and biblically based material with the help of lectures and sermons as well as music. We are striving to bring glory and honor to the name of the great “I AM”. While much of our world is consumed with the entertainment driven industry we are working to promote a solidly biblical medium that will promote the glory of God and assist in the edification and sanctification of His people.

What are the costs associated with this internet radio station? For the user there are none. You are able to listen at will just as you would listen to any radio station. Simply tune in and listen during the broadcasting hours of 7 AM – 9 PM ET. However, this is not free for us to run and depends solely on the support of its listeners. If you are willing to donate to Sola5 Radio we ask that you donate through the Covenant Radio’s donation page. Covenant Radio fully underwrites Sola5 Radio.

What kind of programming is Sola5 Radio going to offer? As stated above, Sola5 Radio is committed to bringing the very best in biblical and Reformed programming. You will hear solidly Reformed and gifted pastors, theologians and lecturers such as Dr. Joel Beeke, Dr. Alan Cairns, Dr. Joe Morecraft to name a few. As with most radio stations we are not going to be a “lecture only” radio station but will also provide music from varying genres such as classical, jazz, contemporary Christian, hymns and the like. We are also very committed to offering the reading of the Holy Scriptures as a main staple and priority. Thanks to the gift of a current listener we are pleased to offer the entire 1599 Geneva Audio Bible for use in our programing.

Does Sola5 Radio offer a programming guide? Yes. Though the program guide may require a few adjustments as we move forward you are able to see what the daily lineup are by downloading the current programming guide at: http://www.covenantradio.com/downloads/programming.pdf

How can I listen to Sola5 Radio? Very simple. Simply go to LoudCity to listen immediately -OR- go to LoudCity to see the Sola5 station page. You are also able to launch Windows Media player while at the station page as another listening option.

Does Sola5 Radio have a website? Yes. Currently we using a free Wordpress blog to post announcements. It is located at: http://sola5.wordpress.com/

Please consider supporting Sola5 Radio by simply listening in as the Lord wills. If you want to help further please consider donating to Covenant Radio as we labor to bring Sola5 Radio to the internet world. As always, please let us know if you are listening or plan to. We desire your feedback and comments.
