Anyone familiar with this music ?

I think that music and lyrics are great, but more to listen at home, not to use for church service.
The music i think rememberance me of the Vineyard Pentacostel music (except the lyrics).

Any thoughts ?

I believe Mark Altrogee is associated with them. He does Scripture songs though: the words of the ESV set to music and sung: www.forevergratefulmusic.com
Love His Scripture cd's!!!!

Beyond that, I'm not familiar with Sovereign Grace Ministries at all.

I have had a couple of their CD's (don't know where they are). Sovereign grace defines themselves as Reformed and charismatic, an interesting combination to be sure.

Their music is pretty lively, but often MUCH more theologically rich than the 7-11 drivel that is used in so many churches. Take for example, their hymn, Before the Throne of God Above. They lyrics are:

"Before the throne of God above
I have a strong and perfect plea.
A great high Priest whose Name is Love
Who ever lives and pleads for me.
My name is graven on His hands,
My name is written on His heart.
I know that while in Heaven He stands
No tongue can bid me thence depart.

When Satan tempts me to despair
And tells me of the guilt within,
Upward I look and see Him there
Who made an end of all my sin.
Because the sinless Savior died
My sinful soul is counted free.
For God the just is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me.

Behold Him there the risen Lamb,
My perfect spotless righteousness,
The great unchangeable I AM,
King of glory and of grace,
One in Himself I cannot die.
My soul is purchased by His blood,
My life is hid with Christ on high,

It's not Isaac Watts, but it's a far cry from Shine Jesus Shine!

They've got theology because they're reformed and charismatic Not just charismatic.

You should see their bookstore. They carry Owen, Puritans, Sproul and a ton of good stuff that even some 'reformed' bookstores don't carry......

We use a good bit of their music in our services. It is several notches above most of what is out there.

I'm not a particularly big fan. I'm not opposed to it or anything, it just does not strike me as consistently great. Of course, I've only ever read through a given song a couple times.
