Studies in Doctrine

McGrath is a great historical theologian. He is not "evangelical" no matter how much the evangelicals want to claim him. Always worth reading, he holds both a DPhil (in molecular biophysics) and an earned Doctor of Divinity degree from Oxford. He is noted for his work in historical, systematic and scientific theology. He tends to be orthodox without being too conservative. I have nearly a dozen of his books. He holds to an accommodating view of evolution.
