Ten Commandments

Maybe I seem a little dated but I found and still find R. J. Rushdoony's Institutes of Biblical Law one of the most interesting books I have ever read. As a young Christian I had the pleasure of obtaining all of his teaching tapes that eventually became the Institutes. I still refer to it now and again. Especially lately because our family is reading Leviticus and Numbers.

I wonder how often most Christians read Leviticus... :)

Two books with slightly different takes on the commandments are:
Joy Davidman, Smoke on the Mountain, and
Vernon Eller, The MAD Morality (which posits the thesis that MAD magazine is moral!)

It's not solely dedicated to the commandments, but Joe Morecraft's Authentic Christianity is a commentary on the WLC. His treatments of the commandments run about 200 pages(some more, some less) for each one. I highly recommend it, as do others on this board.

A simple but interesting Reformed work is Brian H. Edwards' "The Ten Commandments for Today" (Day One Publications). A more in-depth work, also interesting and profitable, is Jochem Douma's "The Ten Commandments: Manual for the Christian Life" (P&R).
