I recently preached from Psalm 130. Here are my 4 headings (4 C's ) for anyone interested.

A Cry For Mercy - "Out of the depths I cry to you O LORD..."

A Confirmation of Mercy - "But with you there is forgiveness..."

A Confidence In Waiting - "I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, in His word I put my hope..."

A Conveying to the Brethren - "O Israel, put your hope in the LORD..."

Blessings

Jason, I agree with etexas. Your four c's summarises the psalm beautifully. What intrigues me about the psalm is verse 6. "... my soul waits for the Lord more that watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning." For me it says something about the longing and eagerness of David. I can just picture how a watchman waits... I was wondering if it may also have something to do with waiting patiently without rush. Sometimes its difficult to understand the meaning of what David had in mind.

Hi Jason

Our Pastor has also been preaching from Ps 130 through December!

Would you believe this co-incidence?:
I A Cry for Help
II A Confession of Guilt
III A Confident Hope in God
IV A Call to Others to Trust
