The Free Church’s veneration for the brethren of the Secession Church

This is an interesting historical piece. I have long enjoyed the sermons of the early Secession preachers as well as the early Free Church fathers. At a purely subjective level there seems to be a kindred spirit in their preaching. It would be fascinating to explore some of the parallels and similarities at a deeper level.

Don’t want to get off topic but what is veneration in the Protestant sense?
