"I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living."

My pastor used this verse in his prayer this morning, and the Lord used it greatly to encourage me. My background (dispensational fundamentalist) emphasized that the world was getting worse and worse and Christians just needed to hang on through this bad place until we could finally be raptured so that all hell could break loose. But I am so glad to know that our God is good, and I do see and will continue to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

The Lord is good to give us not only hope for the future, but foretastes "in the land of the living" of what is to come.
