Beloved of the Lord,

I post this with a prayer that the messages in these eight verses will bless you as much as they did me several mornings ago. Make up your own tune or sing them to a song familiar to you. But however you do it, pray as you sing and make these verses your own. The final verse absolutely floored me.
  • Psalms 62:8
    Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

169 O let my earnest pray'r and cry
come near before thee, Lord:
Give understanding unto me,
according to thy word.
170 Let my request before thee come:
after thy word me free.
171 My lips shall utter praise, when thou
hast taught thy laws to me.
172 My tongue of thy most blessed word
shall speak, and it confess;
Because all thy commandements
are perfect righteousness.
173 Let thy strong hand make help to me:
thy precepts are my choice.
174 I longed for thy salvation, Lord,
and in thy law rejoice.
175 O let my soul live, and it shall
give praises unto thee;
And let thy judgments gracious
be helpful unto me.
176 I, like a lost sheep, went astray;
thy servant seek, and find:
For thy commands I suffered not
to slip out of my mind.

Thank you for sharing brother. I just finished singing it to Denfield (Azmon). I am always amazed at the 119th Psalm. If there is any Psalm that sums up the rest, surely it is that one. I particularly loved verse 174. I desire to long for salvation and rejoice in his law. Thank you again.

Whenever someone says people can focus too much on the Bible, I point them to Psalm 119 and challenge them to tell me that after reading it.
