Watched this film again, after a long while. It's good, although it fails to solidly establish the relationship between Angela Lansbury's character and the Soviet/Chinese Communist agents who "trained" her son (Laurence Harvey). I liked the way director John Frankenheimer injected a little humor into John McGiver's character's death scene ("Is that a pistol? Is that a silencer?").

Angela Lansbury is the sole surviving member of the core cast. She'll be 88 this year.
 
I heard that this was a work of fiction;


...I thought it was a prophecy regarding our current president.
