All right, you want doppelganger, I'll give you doppelganger. Take that in profile subtitle! Bwa, ha, ha, ha.

Is Beasley-Murray still in print? 4 of the 5 volumes are available from WTS books for a grand total of $42 (one of the volumes there is a double volume).

What is the 5th Volume that is missing at WTS?

Is it important? What subtopic of baptism would it cover?

Oh, come on, guys. Isn't the real issue with the proper subjects of baptism, not the mode? Don't you know that TR Karl Barth :)lol:) argued against infant baptistm (1943) because the practice of infant baptism leads inevitably to the Volkskirche. In a similar vein, Bonhoeffer objected that “we gave away the word and sacraments wholesale, we baptized, confirmed, and absolved a whole nation unasked and without conditions. . . . Was there ever a more terrible or disastrous instance of the Christianizing of the world than this?”

Here is a bibliography (not mine) on the topic [READER ALERT: Not too many confessional anybodies in this list; but a who's who anyway] . . .

What is the 5th Volume that is missing at WTS?

Is it important? What subtopic of baptism would it cover?

The four volumes that are available at WTS include Judaic Baptism, Johannic Baptism, Christic Baptism/Patristic Baptism (two volumes in one). The volume that is missing is Classic Baptism (the word in Greek classical literature). That volume is available here.
